According to Aristide Olivier, the deputy mayor of sport of the city, they have been applying for another participation since 2014. In April according to this article they were very optimistic about their chances.
With each passing year, the probability that they will come back gets closer. I am reasonably confident
Olivier said about the possibilities that the Tour fe France would visit the place again.
According to the latest speculations they might be very happy in July 2025, because there will be most likely a time trial between Caen and Bayeux (another place with very rich medieval history) on the 5th day of the race.
The official route presentation of Tour de France will be held on 29 Octover 2024.
